In Battle Of Finland there are several indexes that affects points tha pilot can gain during a mission. Indexes are listed here and explained more detailed later.
1. Pilots task in mission (BA, BD, SUM, INT, EBA, EBD, ESU, ET etc)
2. Pilots gained experience (how many missions flewn etc)
3. Pilots fairplay index (how well obtained rules and recommendations etc)
4. Pilots airkills in mission (what type aircraft shot down - human or AI vs mission task)
5. Pilots ground kills in mission (what kind of ground targets destroyed vs mission task)
6. Pilots status after mission (Landed, Bailed, KIA, MIA, Disconnected etc)
7. Possible bonus points for hosting etc
8. Partial airkill points when assisting someones airkill
All these will be counted together and the total is shown as a mission points.
Pilot has experience 1.000 and ones fairplay index is 80%. Task is interceptor (INT) and during his mission he shots down 2 AI Rookie bombers, assist his teammate by damaging one bomber and shots one human piloted escorting fighter (EBA) - killed pilot has experience 1.200. During his flight to homebase he attacks enemy field camp and strafes 2 vehicles. After mission he lands safely.
Gained mission points:
- 2 x AI Rookie bomber = 2*8 pts* 0.800 (Rookie) = 12.8 pts (+experience 2*0.01)
- assistance points 0.5*8 pts*0.800 = 3.2 pts
- 1 x Human fighter = 1*4 pts* 1.200 (human experience) = 4.8 pts (+experience 0.01)
- 2 x ground targets = 2*1 pts (not included task) = 2 pts (+experience 2*0.002)
- Landed safely: + 4 pts (+experience 0.03)
- Task points: +10 pts (interceptors killed all enemy bombers)
TOTAL: 27.8*0.80 (fairplay 80%)*1.000 (experience 1.000) -> 22.24 -> 22 pts
Pilots own experience will grow from 1.000 -> 1.064 and fairplay recovers from 80% to 85%

TOR: TORpedobombers. Group of defending bombers attacking incoming enemy ships.
ETO: Escort TOR -planes.
JAB: JABo fighterbombers. Group of fighterbombers attacking enemy supply convoys.
EJA: Escort JAB -planes

Next table show the amount of points for each kill depending your mission task.

Next table show the amount of points based on your task. Each task has a different condition, so in Battle Of Finland can have in same side different results. If you are escorting a group of bombers, and all them come back alive, you get max points because that. At same time, bombers need to hit the target to get more mission points.

Experience index is a way to show how good is your actual virtual pilot. When you start a new virtual pilot career (first mission, or first mission after kia/mia) you pilot experience is set to default value for example 0.9 (or 90%). Then, while you keep this pilot alive, experience grows. It will never decrease. In table below you can see what actions or events makes changes on your pilot experience. Once pilot dies, experience turns back to default value.

This index will affect the points won in mission. For example, if your pilot experience after 8 sorties alive is 1.23 (123%), the mission points are increased by 23%. The bad news are that at same time your experience grows, the prize for your head increase too. This is because on every airkill, the points won are affected by the killed pilot experience.
Lets say you fly a mission, and you will get 10 points for each fighter. If you kill an AI_Rookie (experience 0.8 or 80%) you will get only 8 points. And if you kill an expert human, suppose a pilot with experience valued 1.68 (or 168%), you will get 17 points.
This index makes 2 things. One is to courage you keep alive your virtual pilot, this way you win more points. Other things is to set the amount points for an airkill. We all know is not the same to kill a bot or a human. So, we have dynamic scores per kill, based on pilot experience.
When you rescue a pilot, you experience grow by 0.1 (10%), because you learn from the pilot you just saved.
AI controlled planes has their own "experience index" also that affects similarly to the points when they are shot down.
- AI rookie (exp 0.700)
- AI normal (exp 0.900)
- AI veteran (exp 1.000)
- AI ace (exp 1.100)
If you are flying as an interceptor and you shot down enemy bomber. Depending the AI level you get points like this:
- AI rookie 12*0.7 = 8.4 pts
- AI normal 12*0.9 = 10.8 pts
- AI veteran 12*1.0 = 12 pts
- AI ace 12*1.1 = 13.2 pts
Fairplay index works like the experience one, but with some differences. One is that Fairplay index max value is 100%. This represents how much you follow recommendations. In Battle Of Finland is not against rules to use smoke or kill chutes. But, as the most people dislike such things, every time an action "not recommended" is detected, the fairplay will decrease.
The table below shows how much some actions decrease the fairplay index. The total points of mission is affected by this index.

This index is like an automatic punishment. It recovers in steps of 5% if you fly without breaking recommendations. If you want to get all points from missions, you better keep this index at 100%. This is also required to get medals. If you reach the point to get a medal and your fairplay is not 100%, medal is delayed till you get 100% fairplay.
When you rescue a pilot, you fairplay is set to 100%, as a bonus.
If You assist some teammate to shot enemy down and event is noticed by flightlog, you will get 50% of airkill points from the killed aircraft type.
